Painting, 2006, 70×50×0.1 cm

Description of the artwork «Station "Childhood"»

Painting "Station" Childhood ", 70 x 50 cm, oil on canvas, 2006. Author - Alexey Akindinov.
The main plot of the painting "Station" Childhood "is the image of the memory of a carefree and irrevocably gone childhood. The main character is a child, we see his figure in the central part of the composition. The image of the boy I took from my childhood photographs, which are still kept in an old family photo album The plot of the picture is composed of images-memories of my childhood.Behind the figure of a child you can see a steam locomotive from children's attractions, which in summer have always been very popular along with the so-called "Lunaparks", which were brought from Czechoslovakia to our city. images and symbols of childhood, woven from ornaments and signs: toy wheels, Christmas trees, a house, tree branches.
The autumn, evening color of the picture emphasizes the feeling of an irrevocably gone childhood and a fairy tale. The boy is standing at the station called "Childhood", behind him is a small train, which will continue to travel serenely through its children's stops. But the child stands as if on the border of childhood, on the dividing line of dreams and reality, looks at the viewer and as if wants to say: "Childhood is passing?" The child with his gaze as if asks: "What will it be, adult life? Will there be a fairy tale full of love and carelessness in it and that same magic train?"
