My painting "Gothic Starship" refers to works from the series "Starships". This plot is a "red thread" runs through my entire creative life. The theme of stardom first arose in my life as a child when I was in school; at the carnival, my mother sewed a stargazer costume and he won first place at the competition.

As a teenager, I myself built my telescopes with my friend and made astronomical observations, made maps of the starry sky and planets. In the mornings, yard cats surrounded me and looked with amazement at what was happening. They probably also wanted to look into the eyepiece of the telescope. Studying at the Ryazan Art College, I turned to the topic of stargazers in 1997. Connected it with my style - ornamentalism. The teacher, Viktor Vasilievich Korsakov, praised this work, and in 1998 I took the theme of the stargazer "Starship", defending it perfectly, the reviewer of the painting was People's Artist of Russia - Mikhail Abakumov.

In this picture "Gothic Starship" I portrayed the starship in the form of a predictor, the plot of the picture and its entire atmosphere are permeated with the atmosphere of astronomy, astrology and the Middle Ages. In the painting, I tried to get closer in style to Renaissance artists Jan van Eyck and Hubert van Eyck.
