The idea for this piece came about during my last visit to Europe. I was sitting at the street table of a small café near Place Concord in Paris, drinking perfectly brewed coffee and lazily observing what was going on outside. Not far from me, a Frenchwoman, clearly of Arab descent, was busily selling vegetables that shimmered in the midday sun in all the colors of the rainbow. Right across the street from me, on the other side of the street, an elderly gray-haired Frenchman, with white teeth on his black African face, was chatting nicely with a guy who looked remarkably like Jackie Chan... The whole world around sparkled with different colors, they moved and mixed together, complementing each other!
