Biography and information

Alexey Chernov was born in 1979 in the USSR into a military family and a primary school teacher. He spent his early childhood at the border in Kazakhstan at his father's place of service. When Alexei was 7 years old, the family returned to Moscow.
Alexei developed a craving for creativity from early childhood, he never parted with pencils and paints, and at the age of 13 he began to master the guitar, write poetry and music. The years of growing up took place in the difficult 90s, so it was not possible to professionally engage in art, Alexey studied and worked in areas that were not related to either music or painting. However, the craving for creativity prevailed: at the age of 30, Alexey returned to writing poetry and music, at the age of 33 he painted his first picture.
Chernov studied the rules and laws of painting and drawing from the masters of the academic school, took private lessons, studied using various modern methods. At a certain stage, it became obvious to Alexei that knowledge of the basic foundations and techniques of painting is extremely important for real skill, but a deeper immersion in academicism does not bring the proper creative mood and satisfaction, especially since the themes and plots of the artist's works lie for the most part outside classic.
The artist paints in various manners and techniques, but prefers surrealist painting. Such works contain many references to mystical teachings and plots, the language of these paintings is mysterious and metaphorical. Their main theme is the search for answers to eternal questions about creation and the meaning of life, the search for Truth in the chaos of false values and goals.
The works of Alexei Chernov are in demand by fans of painting not only in Russia, but also in the USA, Europe and the Middle East.
