Description of the artwork «Chesmens Church at Dawn»
The work was written specifically for the Exhibition Week in St. Petersburg May 16-21, 2023g. for the 320th anniversary of the city.
I wanted to pay tribute to my love for this city.
The Church of Chesmens, now in operation, is unusually beautiful, especially at dawn! But few visitors to St. Petersburg know about this lacy beauty, which has stood for almost three centuries. You can google the history, I will not go into details, but with my work I wanted to draw attention to this landmark of the city.
The work is done in the style of realism and neo-pressionism (pointillism). With this I want to show that the Temple strikes the imagination for several centuries, and the space around it is ephemeral, changeable.
The work took third place in this exhibition-competition.
A week before this exhibition, this painting participated online in the international competition "Art. Excellence. Awards" "Art. Consistency. Recognition" and received a bronze medal and raised the status of Professional, although I applied as an amateur artist.
