Description of the artwork «Phoenician temple sculpture from the Ifergan Collection Museum (Málaga)»
The Ifergan Collection Museum (Málaga) opened in spring 2018 and includes a private archaeological collection assembled by businessman Vicente Jiménez Ifergan. The Malaca exhibit hall displays a unique collection: in 332 BC, Phoenicians from Tyre tried to save terracotta sculptures from temples from Alexander the Great by sending them to the colony of Malaca, but they failed. In 1958, after 2,500 years, Lebanese fishermen fished out this treasure. Most of it is in the Ifergan collection.
