Outstanding industrial designer of the Leningrad school, Professor, lecturer. Member of the Russian Union of Designers since 1987.
She was born in Leningrad in 1939. When the war broke out, the family left for evacuation near Tashkent. She began to draw only in the 10th grade. In 1962 Tatiana graduated from the V.I. Mukhina LVCPU, where she studied at the Department of Metal. Specialty: "Artistic processing of metals"; qualification: "Artist of decorative and applied art". In those years, this department was actually already the center of training of professional industrial designers. In 1962 - 1995 Tatiana Samoilova worked in the Leningrad branch of VNIITE (until the mid 60's this institution was called SCKB of Lensovnarkhoz). During this time she designed many household items, some of which (first of all, electric razor "Kharkov" and hand sewing machine "Steezhok"), created together with designer Igor Chuprun, were produced by the industry. They were often shown at exhibitions, including foreign ones. In 1976 Tatiana Samoilova participated in the exhibition of Soviet design in Stuttgart, in 1979 - in a traveling exhibition in Poland, in 1982 - in East Berlin, in 1987 - again in Stuttgart. In 1987 she joined the Union of Designers of the USSR and was elected to its presidium. In 1991 and 1993 she participated in group exhibitions of Russian designers in Japan. Professor, lecturer at the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, Faculty of Information Technologies. In 2012, a retrospective of Tatiana Samoilova was held in the exhibition hall of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers. She is a member of the section "Art-Design" of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers, a teacher of the Academy of A. L. Stieglitz. L. Stieglitz Academy, respected member of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers. The most significant exhibitions: 1991 - solo exhibition "Images of Perestroika". Japan, Tokyo; 1993 - a year-long exhibition traveling in Japan in a group of 9 designers from different countries (T.S. Samoilova's project "Bird Houses"). Exhibitions: 1974 - winner of the exhibition NTTM-74 VDNKh USSR (for artistic design of lamps); 1976 - participant of the exhibition "Soviet Designer", 1976, FRG, Stuttgart (development of equipment for residential buildings); 1979 - participant of the specialized exhibition "Design in the USSR", 1979, Poland, Warsaw and Krakow; 1979 - exhibition "Design in the USSR", 1979, India, Bombay (for the artistic development of a set of stainless steel dishes); 1982 - exhibition "Design in the USSR", GDR, Berlin (a series of electric shavers under the program "Kultbytmash-I"); 1981-1982 - exhibition "Design in the USSR", GDR, Berlin (a series of electric shavers under the program "Kultbytmash-I"). - exhibition "Design in the Service of Efficiency and Quality" at VDNKh USSR (for the development of advanced models of electric shavers "Neva" and manicure sets); 1987 - exhibition "Design in the USSR", Germany, Stuttgart (design program "Clock" and hand sewing machine "Stitch"); 1990-1991 - participant of the exhibition "Design Leningrad", GDR, Berlin (design program "Clock" and hand sewing machine "Stitch"). - participant of the exhibition "Design of Leningrad", Leningrad, exhibition hall "Lensoft"; 1982 - participant of the specialized exhibition "60 Years of Education of the USSR", Moscow, VNIITE; 1982 - exhibition "Design in the Service of Efficiency and Quality" (electric razor "Neva"); 1997 - participant of the first St. Petersburg exhibition-cum-exhibition "Design in the Service of Efficiency and Quality" (electric razor "Neva"); 1997. - participant of the first St. Petersburg exhibition-competition "Best Design of the Year, 1997"; 1999 - Union of Designers of the USSR Leningrad organization (design of cutlery); 1999 - "Modulor 99" (in the nomination "Medium Design"); 2001 - "Japanese Spring in St. Petersburg" 2001, exhibition of the Japanese project in the Shuvalovsky Palace; 2004 - participant of the exhibition "Surprises for Women", St. Petersburg, exhibition hall of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers; 2004 - personal exhibition in the Union of Designers: design projects, competitions, publications; 2005 - silver diploma at "Modulor" (a set of perfume bottles "Memories of Japan"); 2007 - first place in the 6th St. Petersburg Biennale "Modulor" (Nomination "Design-Pedagogy", a series of diploma works of students of the Faculty of Information Technology, St. Petersburg State University of Design and Construction); 2008 - personal exhibition "Retrospective", St. Petersburg, exhibition hall of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers; 2012. - participant of the exhibition "Silver Jubilee", St. Petersburg, exhibition hall of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers; 2013. - celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Japanese design company Jikei (author's project in the House of Friendship), Russia, St. Petersburg.
