Trees - a symbol of long age and wisdom, and a piece of wood as a reminder of nothing is eternal and how fragile this world is, and I as an artist can only recreate the beauty on the canvas and maybe save the whole tree. And the image will help to touch with a glance and a hand to such a warm and native creation of a tree, its bark.
Sage is a favorite plant from the red book, the delicate aroma is so appealing and the velvety leaves are a delight. Its medicinal properties have long been known to mankind and therefore this delightful plant is under threat. Fortunately it is often grown in backyard gardens. I have sage and I use it to treat colds. And it made it onto my canvas.
