Description of the artwork «Portrait of Aleksandr Ilyich Bibikov»

The painting depicts Aleksander Ilyich Bibikov (1780s - 1830s) - officer of the Life Guards Izmailovsky Regiment, in 1802 - lieutenant, from 1803 - lieutenant. November 20, 1805 participated in the battle of Austerlitz, for which April 5, 1806 was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree. On September 18, 1806, by order of Alexander I, he was dismissed from his service. Probably, the resignation was connected with the marriage of Bibikov on Alexandra Sergeevna Borshchova (late 1780s - 1809). After the death of his wife Bibikov again took part in the hostilities.
