Description of the artwork «Two heads»

October 4, 1982, when the picture was painted "Two heads"Jean-Michel Basquiat first met with his idol. Of course, before he saw Warholtimes, and the master himself had heard about a street artist, signing the pseudonym SAMO and painted t-shirts, and even met him a few times on the streets of new York. So it would be better to say that in this day Jean-Michel Basquiat was officially presented to Andy Warhol.

Their meeting was organized by art dealer Bruno Bishofberger. Basquiat even sold Warhol a couple of your cards. They spent in each other's company quite a bit of time. Warhol took a few pictures of Jean-Michel his famous camera "Polaroid", and Basquiat had asked to be removed together, then quickly bowed. And after some few hours, his assistant was taken to the "Factory" Warhol painting "Two heads", depicting both artists. Basquiat himself had written in his characteristic primitive, almost cartoon style (big smile and spikey hair literally radiate happiness from the meeting with the king of pop art). It is interesting that Warhol depicted in a very different technique, his portrait is very naturalistic, though written with just a few strokes.

Picture taken Warhol was still completely raw, of course, paint would not have had time to dry in such a short time. But Jean-Michel wasn't that important. As what the assistant had to run ten blocks with pattern in hand, because she does not fit in a taxi. However, Basquiat achieved that, on what counted, – he made an impression on the Andy Warhol. You can imagine the speed with which he wrote Basquiat, for himself, and the assistant even took the time on the road. That day Warhol, considering the unexpected gift in front of the whole Factory, said: "He runs faster than I do. I really envy". And since that day began their friendship.
