Friedrich August von Kaulbach Friedrich August von Kaulbach (1850-1920) German painter. The son of the master of historical painting, Friedrich Kaulbach is famous for his richly ornamented dreamlike portraits, mostly of women, painted in the French style of the 19th century.
Manufactured in the Hanfstaengl painting salon in Munich with underdrawing in watercolor and gouache by Erna Hanfstaengl (1885-1981). The salon keeper Ernst ("Puzzi") Hanfstaengl was a friend of Hitler's and was assisted by his brother's sister Erna Hanfstaengl, Hitler's friend. The copies of the paintings were printed, and the sister supplemented them by drawing to resemble the originals.
Information on the painting took place in the 1940s. The portrait was personally shipped to Ernst Hanfstangl of Munich and was sold (Ernst Buchner) to Ernst Buchner in 1940-41. on October 25, 1942 (Buchner Bormann) Buchner Bormann put it up for sale. (Berlin. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Paris)
