Since 1901 engaged in the Drawing school A. Makovsky, and the Imperial Academy of arts as an auditor (1904-1912). In 1912 - the title of the artist for the painting "bathers" and overseas pensionerstvo.

Worked in Petrograd/Leningrad. Member of the society since 1916, In 1916-1918. exhibited with the Peredvizhniki. Participated in the exhibition "Fifteen years of the workers' and peasants 'red Army" in 1933 in Moscow, "Twenty years of the workers' and peasants 'red Army" 1938 works of the artist are in many regional museums and in private collections.

Painter and genre painter. Member of the society since 1916. One of the few Soviet artists who systematically worked in the Nude. Since 1901, first as a volunteer, then a student was engaged in the Drawing school A. V. Makovsky. In 1904 and 1912 he studied at the Imperial Academy of arts

in the class of Professor Vladimir Makovsky was one of the top students in his workshop. Was awarded a trip abroad for the competition film "bathers". In 1916 – 1918 he exhibited with the Wanderers. In 1920 – 30-e years the artist has created the theme song, reflecting the construction of a new life, participated in exhibitions, devoted to the 15th anniversary (1933) and the 20th anniversary (1938) the worker-peasant red Army. Represented in the collection of the state Russian Museum, the Museum of AH, as well as numerous genre compositions in private collections in Russia and abroad.
