Biography and information

Born in St. Petersburg in 1850, graduated from the commercial College in St. Petersburg, and in 1870 he entered the Academy of fine Arts, from which received for landscape studies 2nd silver medal in 1874 and the 1st silver medal in 1877 In the following year he traveled to Russia for art classes, and in 1879 for a genre picture "Memories" was awarded the title of class artist third degree. In 1880, his painting "In their possession" was at the VIII-th exhibition of the Association of traveling exhibitions, in 1881 his works were on the academic exhibition, and at the IX-th mobile. In 1882 he exhibited at the Academy in the newly established competition in the genre painting "Family scene in a garden", and the August President of the Academy at the request of the Council, asked for Royal permission for the issuance of G. Bogdanov pensioner's content for one year so that he could go overseas and get acquainted with the works of famous artists of the genre painters in the European galleries. Examined in the same year, the galleries of Germany and France, Bogdanov in 1883, sending his Sketches, executed in the outskirts of Paris, asked the Council to continue his pensioner's content for two years and when this request was granted, went to Rome. Since 1884 his works are exhibited at exhibitions of the Association of traveling exhibitions. From that time up to 1889, inclusive, they were exposed to 14 pictures.
