Alexandrovich Veshchilov

Wrote paintings on themes of Russian and ancient history. Born in St. Petersburg. In 1893 – 1896 he studied at the Drawing school of the society, in 1896 – 1898 – the school of Princess M. Tenisheva, 1898 – 1904 – in St. Petersburg Academy of arts (I. Repin). After AH got the right to pensionerstvo for two years. In 1908 he graduated from the Archaeological Institute. From 1912 was as an artist of the Naval Ministry. Traveled through Egypt, Palestine, Italy and France, met on Capri with Gorky. Received a prize in the competition. A. Kuindzhi prize OPH. Several paintings purchased by Empress Maria Feodorovna. Works were reproduced in magazines "Niva", "Ogonyok", "Rodina" and "Santarossa". In 1914 he became head of the decorative part of the theater of Literary and artistic Islands. Participated in Spring exhibitions in the halls of Academy, exhibitions ORA (member Islands from 1911), TPHV. Since 1922 he lived and worked in France since the mid-1930s in the United States.

K. A. Veselov - favorite student of Ilya Repin wrote of paintings on themes of Russian and ancient history, worked in the genre of landscape, especially a seascape. He studied at the Academy of fine Arts (1898-1904 gg.), after which he received a gold medal. Since 1901 took part in exhibitions. For the painting "Ivan the terrible after Kazan wins" in 1904 received the title of artist. In 1905-1906 – the pensioner of the Academy of Arts abroad. After studying abroad became interested in painting battle and began working as a painter in the Navy. In 1918 arrived in the Penza province, which marries the relative of the artist F. V. sychkova. There is also responsible for the decorative workshop, writes the scenery for local productions, portraits of the leaders, makes out revolutionary holidays. In July 1919, he opened an art exhibition, which became a bright event for the whole of the Penza province. Shortly after the opening of the exhibition Veselov was summoned to Moscow. In 1922, emigrated from Moscow to Paris, where he works as a decorator, artist and Director of the Russian intimate theater D. Kirova (1928-1930.), and in 1933 became a member of the Board of the artists ' section of the Union of Russian artists in France.

Among the paintings of Konstantin Alexandrovich Veselova: "On the road to the temple" (1901, Odessa art Museum), "the Drowned maiden" (1903, Verdancy art Museum), "Night in Rome" (1903, far Eastern art Museum, Khabarovsk), "forgiveness Sunday in Russia in the XVII century" (award to them. A. I. Kuindzhi, 1905), "Stenka Razin on the Volga" (1908, the prize of the Society for the encouragement of artists, 1908), "Tatar fun" (1911), "Evening in March" (1919) and others. Painted several paintings devoted to Russian-Japanese war: "the Breakthrough of the cruiser "Askold" in 1904 in the Yellow sea," "the Squadron of Admiral Rozhdestvensky" and others. The author of numerous watercolors (1904-1917.): "Noon in the Poconos", "silent night" and others. It brushes also owns several portraits (in 1920 he made drawings from nature by V. I. Lenin).
