Ivan Constantinovich Aivazovsky (Armenian Hovhannes Ayvazian; July 17 (29), 1817, Theodosia - April 19 (May 2), 1900, Theodosia) - the most famous Russian marine painter. Aivazovsky went from being a Feodosia boy who painted on the walls of houses, because there were no pencils or albums in the house, to one of the most famous and successful masters of his time. On the origin of the artist Aivazovsky and his first paintings

In Europe, the artist Aivazovsky first appeared at the age of 23 years. In marriage with Julia Grevs were born four girls. Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky was unspeakably happy and said that his best paintings were painted according to the inspiration associated with his marriage. Alas, such happiness was not infinite. Julia dreamed to shine in Petersburg, and life in Feodosia did not suit her at all. Family paradise was replaced by scandals, and after 11 years she went to Odessa, from where she sent the king complaints about her husband and prevented his communication with children. In 1877, their marriage was officially terminated.
