Biography and information

A graduate of the Academy of Arts in 1800. In 1802-a silver medal; in 1803-2 gold for the painting: "Two students examining pictures", diploma of 1 degree and a sword. 1807-academician for the portrait of "van, son-in-law of the Emperor of China". From 1804 to 1807, traveled to China at the Embassy of gr. Golovkin. (Kondakov)

Painter, the son of a serf of count N. P. Sheremetev. Was determined by his master to the students of the Imperial Academy of arts. Practicing under the guidance of Professor G. I. Ugryumova, received a gold medal for the painting: "Two pupils look at the drawings and prints", and was released C. Sheremetev at will. In 1804-1807 he went to China at the Embassy of gr. Yury Golovkin. On his return to St. Petersburg for a portrait urginskaya shaft, Jung-Dong Dorji, son-in-law of the Emperor of China, awarded the title of academician. Of his works known portrait of imp. Alexander I and several portraits of family members gr. S. M. Kamensky.
