Anatoly
Ivanovich Alekseev

Born in 1929 in the village. Rodino Altai Territory. From 1946 to 1950, he studied at the Irkutsk Art School under AP Krylov, from 1950 to 1956 at the Kharkov State Institute of Art in the painting department of S. Besedin, A. Lyubimsky, I. Kara. . From 1956 to 1965 and from 1976 to 1980 he taught at the Irkutsk School of Arts. Among his students are Y. Surakevich, S. Yakobchuk, L. Gimov. Member of the CPSU since 1968. Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1960. In 1975 he was awarded the title of merit. artist of the RSFSR, in 1983 - Nar. artist of the RSFSR. Since 1984 - Corr. AH USSR. Since 1988 - Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. From 1964 to 1975 and from 1986 to 1987 - Chairman of the Board of the Irkutsk Organization of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the RSFSR, secretary of the Board of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the RSFSR, chairman of the zonal exhibition committee. Has government awards.
