Graphic artist and painter. Was engaged in book graphic art; he designed the works of Russian modern writers, Bryansk authors, but the main technique, which gave preference to E. N. Antonov – printed graphics: linocut and etching.

Honored artist of Russia (2006), honored worker of culture of the RSFSR, member of the Union of journalists of Russia.



The winner of the annual regional prize. A. K. Tolstoy "the Silver lyre" in 2002.

Born, lived and worked in Bryansk. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

In 1946 he was one of the originators of the Bryansk branch of all-Russian cooperative Union of fine arts workers ("Vsekohudozhnik", July 1953 – the USSR Art Fund) and was the organizer of the first exhibition in Bryansk artists in 1947.

"That's him Bryansk oblast owes much to the fact that for a short period of time the graphic art of our city in its professional level on par with the best achievements of artists of Russia", – noted the staff of the Bryansk regional art Museum exhibition centre at the opening of the solo exhibition of the artist held in 2012.

Creative way E. Antonova began in 1942 in the army of design of visual agitation and release of combat leaflets. In 1944 he participated in the exhibition by artists of the army of the 1st far Eastern army. Then was a student at Penza art College named. K. A. Savitsky in the Moscow polygraphic Institute. Collaborated with the newspaper "Bryansk worker", "Bryansk news", "Bryansk Komsomolets". A significant place in the artist took the theme dedicated to the heroic pages of history of the Bryansk region during the great Patriotic war, they created a series of linocuts "SHumel harsh Bryansk forest", a series of portraits of members of the partisan movement, famous people. The most popular became the series of engravings "literary places of the Bryansk region", dedicated to the ancestral estates of Fyodor Tyutchev and Aleksey Tolstoy. The artist has created a series of works of Brjansk where he displayed the architectural character of his native city, and he captured the old parts of Bryansk.

Solo exhibition in the Bryansk regional artistic Museum and exhibition centre from 21 March to 10 April 2012. The exhibition featured 50 works of graphic art, including landscape and portraits, thematic compositions and pencil sketches.
