Born 7 January 1942 in Novosibirsk.
In 1960 he graduated from the Leningrad art and graphic pedagogical College, in 1968 — the Moscow polygraphic Institute (Leningrad branch).
Since 1965, is actively involved in the work of the leading publishing houses of Leningrad (St. Petersburg); in 1968-1972 and art editor at the publishing house "Soviet artist", "Aurora", 1982-1991-m — head of the Department of artistic design of the magazine "Aurora", 1991-1998-m — chief artist and member of the editorial Board of the magazine "the World word". Since 1978 — member of the Union of artists of Russia.
Many works in the technique of monotype. Illustrated classics, modern poetry and prose. The most significant work of recent years — the cycles of illustrations for the album "the Invitation of the commander" (for "the Stone guest" by A. Pushkin), "Mozart and Salieri" by A. Pushkin, "the Poor people", "Netochka Nezvanova" and "the Player" Dostoevsky. Is the recipient of numerous awards and competitions dedicated to the art of book decoration, awarded medals. Participated in exhibitions in more than fifteen countries around the world.
