Was born in January 1881 in Palekh. Hereditary icon painter, brother of I. M. Bakanova. In 1925 he joined the Artel of ancient painting. Died 3 Feb 1928, buried in Palekh. Themes of works: literature, genre scenes. Participated in exhibitions since 1926.
