Emma, Baltmane already been in the school for ability in drawing, and the school provided her with support to continue studies at the St. Petersburg Academy of arts, but her parents did not agree to this. In 1928 E. Baltmane participated in the exhibition in honor of the decade of the existence of Latvia.
In 1929 she participated regularly in exhibitions of the society of Independent artists.
Memorable exhibitions are organized in Riga (1970, 1982).
She was a member of the Union of artists since 1945.
