Was born in Kazan. Attended drawing courses at the Kazan art school. 1906 - in Tyumen. Worked in the Tyumen art Studio. Worked in the Tyumen art Studio (1920-1925), M. I. Avilov, I. Beskova, K. P. Trofimov. A member of the artists Union from 1939. Watercolourist, painter, landscape painter, wrote the kinds of old Tyumen and Tobolsk. One of the founders of Tyumen organization CX RSFSR. Participant of city, regional, zonal, Republican exhibitions. Solo exhibitions: 1958 (Tyumen, TAG), 1986 (Tyumen, TAG). Works are TMII, TOKM, THIS and in private Russian collections. Died in Tyumen.

Singer Patriarchal, leaving the past in Tyumen, was Veniamin Petrovich Barashev (1885-1975). His "thin elegiac landscapes", presented at Studio exhibitions in 20-ies, immediately attracted the attention of great poetic and lyrical. Later, in his autobiographical recollections, Barassi wrote: "I was interested in the motives of antique architecture, and in the adventures with the album I took a good look at the old houses, churches. Before the revolution in Tyumen houses a century old-remained without exception. Every year they are dilapidated, but looked more solid and of them are not weathered yet the spirit of the old-fashioned way of life. Compared to the new bourgeois wings, with their freshly painted walls, window frames and gates, the old days seemed more interesting and more picturesque". Often the artist's works in 20-40 years you can also see the image of the Annunciation Cathedral, blown up in 30 years, the ensemble of the Trinity monastery, Znamenskaya and Saviour of the Church. In his numerous drawings, sketches, sketches Barashev created a surprisingly soulful and reverent portrait of the old city.
