Biography and information
"Free painter of animals and birds". In 1786 the Academy of Arts awarded in the "assigned to" has submitted the painted work depicting a "Rabbit". (Kondakov)
(1753.10.II – 1832.19.VII) In 1773 – 76 years studied theology in Erfurt and in parallel studied painting with the German animal painter E. Z. Bey.
In 1776 he returned to Latvia, was engaged in govopyu and agricultural sector, the artist was an avid hunter. Painting and hunting E. G. he has traveled Paestum Vidzeme and Kurzeme.
He was a productive painter, his personal data has created a work of 1713.
The artist painted mainly species of animals and birds in a landscape, a still life with game and a few portraits.
At the time E. G. he was very popular in the Baltic States.
