Biography and information
Born in the town of Koeru, now in the Estonian SSR], people's artist of the Estonian SSR (1961). Member of the CPSU since 1944. He studied at the higher art school "Pallas" in Tartu (1924-35). The author noted a love interest in man of portraits, genre works, illustrations to the works of Estonian writers ("Sleeping child", drypoint, 1955, etc.), executed in different techniques of engraving. National award (1947). Awarded 3 orders and medal.
