Description of the artwork «Shakhristan pass»
Made in the early 80-ies of XX century, the work represents a synthesis of the surreal and realistic landscape school of painting. The author presents a mountain ridge in the form of anthropomorphic creature, which seems frozen for a moment with his back to the viewer. Author's characteristic blue-purple, cool palette and the deliberate pretentiousness of the forms refers to the philosophy of Roerich N. To. and H. P. Blavatsky, the secret doctrine and Shambhala, hidden behind a series of unreachable mountain ridges.
