V. M. Waxman (Katkova) is a theatre artist, painter, teacher, member of the Union of artists of the USSR (1974). Was born in Yaroslavl. Graduated from Yaroslavl art school (1961). Arrived in Chelyabinsk in 1967 after graduating from the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture. I. E. Repin (workshop of theatrical-decorative painting of Professor A. I. Segal). Admitted to the theatre of Opera and ballet. Glinka's chief art Director. Work on the layouts, decorations, costumes - the first steps of the labour activities of Valentina Mikhailovna. Having great professional school, nourished on the tips and Mature masters E. E. Moiseenko, V. A. valcheva, A. I. Sokolov, she devoted her life to art.
In collaboration with the choreographer L. V. Voskresenskaya Waxman worked on the staging of the ballets "Legend of love" by A. Melikov (1968), "the fountain of Bakhchisarai" Asafiev B. (1970). With the Director N. By K. Dautov developed the scenography of the ballet "little Red riding hood" M. Rauhvergera (1969) and the Opera "CIO-CIO-San" G. Puccini (1970). With sketches for many of his productions she participated in art exhibitions of the highest rank: the all-Union exhibition "Past and present peoples of the USSR" (1972), 3rd and 6th zonal exhibition "the socialist Urals" (Chelyabinsk,1969, Sverdlovsk, 1985), 5-th Republican - "Soviet Russia" (1975), the all-Union exhibition of artists of theatre and cinema (Moscow, 1978), etc.
The most famous work in the theatrical career of Valentina Mikhailovna was the staging of the play "Mother Courage and her children" in collaboration with Director Maria Lvovna Silickas in Shadrinska drama theatre. Participation in the First all-Union festival was a great success - the work of Waksman was awarded a diploma of the Ministry of culture of the USSR (1975). She's always looking for sharp image plastic and clear expression of the material. Her works are full of emotional emotion. Movements jerky, but accurate and confident. With almost intuitive precision, masterful skill, a light touch she draws the models, admiring the slender flexibility of the student, the color of luxury patchwork fur...
Her works - performances of color, where the color plane and stains, strokes and dots merge into an intricate pattern of turn into joyful action, extravaganza of colors, excitedly overlapping and connecting in harmonious harmonious choir.
Valentina throws on the canvas of a colorful mess, inexplicably turn into a quivering cloud of flowers. The letter textured with raised moulding strokes with its power calls to mind cézanne and van Gogh. Painting from Waxman is in fact deeply sensual.
