Honored artist of Russia, academician of the Russian Academy of arts. One of the leading masters of enamel art in Russia. He was born in 1948. In 1972 he graduated from the Higher school of industrial art (former Stroganov). Is a permanent participant of many Russian and international exhibitions and symposiums. Works in various genres and techniques of fine art, creates art glass Windows, mosaics, wall paintings in temples, engaged in iconography. Winner of international awards for the best works in the technique of hot enamel.

The last two decades of the artist Nikolai Vdovkin seriously engaged in artistic enamel, reaching a new technique considerable success. Developing the traditions of this ancient art form, he has added a very modern sound, has enriched the new sophisticated technologies and coloristic possibilities.

The artist lives and works in Stavropol Krai. People active life position, he passes his experience and skill to the students of southern Federal University. Since 1991 on the basis of its creative workshop holds international symposiums on enamel. Heads the Guild of enamellers Russia. Awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of arts.
