Honored artist of Russia (1984). Born in Gorky . Graduated, finished the art school (1948-1953) and the graphic Department of Kharkiv art Institute (1954-1960). Worked in the easel graphic works, primarily in watercolors. A member of the Union of Russian artists since 1964.

1961 - the constant participant of regional exhibitions. Exhibitor of zonal ("Great Volga", 1964, 1967, 1970, 1974, 1980, 1985, 1991, 1998), Republican (Moscow, 1967, 1980, 1991, 1998), all-Union (Moscow, 1962, 1972, 1977), national (Moscow, 1999) and international (Malta, 1991; Sri Lanka, 1991) art exhibitions. Solo exhibitions: Bitter, N. Novgorod: 1982, 1992, 1994, 2002.

Born in Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod). He graduated in 1953, Gorky art school and graphic Department of Kharkiv state art Institute (1960) In the early stages of his work Nikolay Velichko with the same success he worked in different graphic techniques: coloured linocut, lithography, mixed media (pencil, charcoal, sauce), as well as watercolors. Watercolor – basic technique in the works of N. Velichko. The range of topics of concern to the artist., very diverse landscapes of his native Volga city of Gorky and its industry, history and heroic everyday life of the Nizhny Novgorod militia. An important place in the artist takes the image of Lenin. A keen sense of color, tone, active temperament will allow the master to solve complex creative task to convey the inner content of the image, to find convincing pictorial and plastic form. N. Velichko is a member of the Union of artists of the USSR since 1964. Participant of regional, zonal, Republican, all-Union exhibitions.
