Biography and information

Theater artist, honored art worker of the Georgian SSR (1934). From 1922 he worked in the Theater. Rustaveli (Tbilisi), where he designed more than 50 plays (including "hamlet", 1925 and "Othello", 1937, by William Shakespeare; "the Robbers" by F. Schiller, 1933; "Anzor", 1928, "Arsen", 1936 and "Giorgi Saakadze", 1940, S. Shanshiashvili). Also created the scenery for productions of operas "abesalom and Eteri" and "Daisi" by Z. Paliashvili (both 1936-1937) at the Theatre of Opera and ballet. Z. Paliashvili (Tbilisi) and to many of the performances in other theaters. In his early work is dominated by abstract geometrical designs in the future, keeping as the basis of a constructive beginning, he refers to specific architectural forms, interpreting them usually monumental and romantic spirit.
