Born in the family of Barber.

Graduated from Latvian Academy of arts, Studio of Landscape painting of V. Purvitis (thesis "the Thaw", 1944)

A diverse artist who worked in almost all genres, mainly in oil and watercolour.

A great master of psychological portrait, a lot of this genre was in the late 1950s, portraying many prominent Latvian and foreign cultural workers. The scenery is very lyrical, picturesque. But he also wrote the sea and the sketches of the old town.
