Biography
Was born in 1944 . in Leningrad. He studied in the Studio of O. A. Sidlin, under the supervision of senior students I. Ivanov and A. basin. Together with the students worked in the open air in Armenia, the Crimea and Valdai. In Studio training O. Sidlin, the artist focused not so much on the mater, as on his older friend I. Ivanov, and later, Veronese, Zurbaran and El Greco.
He first exhibited his work at the club plant them. Kozitskogo (1968 – 1969), then in the workshop of V. Ovchinnikov in the Makeshift alley (1971 – 1972). Participant of exhibitions in DK. Gas and Nevsky (1974 – 1975), housing in Leningrad and Moscow, in DK. Ordzhonikidze, the house of the writer to them. Vladimir Mayakovsky (1977 – 1978).
In 1979 . emigrated. Participated in the exhibitions "Russian art in exile" in France, Germany and the USA. Visited museums of Italy, worked for some time in the monasteries of Greece, on the island of Patmos and mount Athos. In 1989 . he returned to Russia. In 1989 – 1990 first exhibited together with Ivan Ivanov on Liteiny, 57, then in the refectory of the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the mother of God with a religious painting. Participated in several group exhibitions in the halls of St. Petersburg.
In the late 1980s came to Orthodox monumental tradition of iconography; in Greece and then in St. Petersburg, made a large number of sketches for monumental temple paintings which have remained unfulfilled.
