Son conference Secretary of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Student of the Academy from 1840 to 1850 g (studied with K. P. Briullov). Received silver medal: 1844 - 2 and 1 for the painting "Sleeping Endymion"; 1845 - 2 gold for the painting "Apollo and Hyacinth". In 1848 he received 1 gold medal for the painting "Christ blesses the children" and the title of artist XIV class. In 1849 he was sent to the pensioner abroad. (Kondakov) ; died during pensionerstva, in Rome, 1856

Buried in the cemetery, Testaccio in Rome.
