He studied at Krasnoufimsk pedagogical College. Was friendly and worked with VF by Coparcener.

In 1941 he was drafted into the Soviet army. Graduated from the Chelyabinsk military aviation school shooters-scorers. Since 1942 he fought in the South, North-Caucasian fronts in Kuban as a Sergeant. He was wounded, injured, after recovery in 1944 sent to the aviation unit of Iran. Demobilized in 1945. Awarded the order of Patriotic war II degree, medals "For military merit", "For defense of Caucasus", "For Victory over Germany in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945".

In 1946 he graduated from teachers ' College, then in 1947-1952 he studied at the Sverdlovsk art school.

Since 1958 - member of the artists Union.

He was a delegate to the II, III, IV, V, VI congresses of artists of the RSFSR, III, IV, VI, VII Congress of the USSR. He was elected a member of the Union of artists of the USSR, RSFSR.

Participant of international, all-Union, Republican, regional, city and zonal exhibitions.

E. gudina paintings are kept in museums of Ekaterinburg (Ekaterinburg Museum of fine arts), Moscow (State Tretyakov gallery), Perm (Perm art gallery), Tyumen, Vorkuta and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Yakutsk, and are in private collections in Russia and abroad.

Born in the village (now city) of Upper Salda, Sverdlovsk region, in the family of a factory worker, a member of the Russian-Japanese, First world and Civil wars, who died in 1922 (mother died in 1929). Were brought up by relatives, participated in forest and field work. After three years in school, ran away from home and a few years besprizornichali, traveling around the country. Returning to his native village, he went to work in selhoskhimiya, worked in the hayfields, cultivated, learned on the tractor. After high school, FZO, specialty of tools mechanic worked in Chaschinskogo MTS Perm region, and studied in high school. In 1939, after graduating from the seven classes enrolled in Krasnoufimsk pedagogical College.

In the early days of the great Patriotic war he was enrolled a student of Chelyabinsk flight school, where he received a specialty of the Navigator, in 1942 he was sent to the front. Served in intelligence, not one time was behind enemy lines, out of the encirclement, after a serious injury in hospital. In may 1943 he served in the special regiment, to destroy the retreating enemy pieces in the Kuban Plavni. Was injured, was treated in hospitals of Krasnodar, Kislovodsk, Tbilisi. After recovery he was transferred to the southern border, in October 1945, demobilized from the army.

In 1945-1947 he continued his studies in Krasnoufimsk pedagogical College. In 1946 he wrote from life your first ever landscape sketch in oil. After College came the same year in the Sverdlovsk art College (now named after I. D. Shadr), graduated in 1952, he Studied under F. Shmelev, N. Golubchikov. Thesis - "the Water went". Along with his studies at art school she studied at the history Department of the Sverdlovsk pedagogical Institute (1948), was seriously interested in philosophy, history, psychology, aesthetics.

After finishing art school he worked in Art colleges, where he taught drawing and composition. From 1954 he worked in the workshops of the Art Fund. From 1955 he participated in all major art exhibitions of national and regional significance, as well as in Japan and Mongolia. In 1960 to 1970 he travelled all over the country: Sakhalin and the Amur, the coast of the Kara sea. The Northern and Polar Urals, Vorkuta and Bashkiria, Taimyr, Dixon, Khakassia and Tomsk, Tuva, Carpathian and Transcarpathia, Kamchatka, Kuril Islands and Chukotka.

I. E. Goodin specialized in the genre of the picturesque landscape (technique oil). It is characterized by the desire of the means of landscape painting to reveal the understanding of life phenomena, their complexity, to reflect the interconnectedness of human beings with the earth. In painting, he found his own original artistic language, harakteryzuyutsya elements of monumentality, clear rhythm, the tense elasticity, unexpected spatial relationships, color richness, if you use a minimum of colors.

Just a creative period of his life, by I. E. Gudini written several dozen landscape paintings, exhibited at various exhibitions. In 1958, E. I. Goodin was admitted to the Union of artists of the USSR. In 1970 he was awarded the honorary title "Honored artist of the RSFSR", and in 1986 - the title "people's artist of the RSFSR". He was awarded medals "For military merit", "For victory over Germany in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945", "For defense of Caucasus".
