Born in the fortress of Zamosc Lublin province in 1862, Died in Moscow in 1921

Denisov, who had studied in the Warsaw music Institute, and as a musician who served in the Lithuanian regiment of the Russian army, he began his studies in painting at the age of thirty-three years in Moscow. His mentors became K. A. Korovin and V. A. Serov. Many of the works of Denisov associated with the theater: he did the symbolist sets for several theatres of St. Petersburg. In addition, created a mural in the Church of Ivanovo - Voznesensk. His easel paintings Denisov was shown at the exhibitions of various art associations, however, neither one of them was not included. The artist was one of the most consistent symbolism in Russian painting. M. A. Vrubel appreciated and recognized artist. A long time forgotten the name of Vasily Denisov only now returning to the audience.
