Born August 3, 1938 in the village Novalesa in the Brest region. The greatest influence on the formation of the future artist had Brest painter I. Y. Fetisov, Honoured artist of Belarus. They many times worked together in the Studio, went to the sketches. Fetisov was sharing with her younger friend the secrets of the trade. He taught Vladimir to see the color and instilled in him a love of painting. In 1955, After graduating from high school, V. K. Datsuk came to Leningrad and entered the school of V. A. Serova. The young man was kind, enthusiastic and curious, and his interests were not limited to painting of antique casts, the study of portraits and the Nude model. He was in love with nature in all its multifaceted beauty, fond of Geology, entomology and botany. A love of nature, romantic and restless warehouse traveler led him to the geological Department of Leningrad state University, from which he successfully graduated in 1965.
V. K. Datsuk participated in twelve large expeditions in different parts of the former Soviet Union - Tajikistan, Arkhangelsk oblast, Kyrgyzstan, on the Kola Peninsula, Baikal, Sakhalin and the far East, in Crimea and Transcarpathia. And everywhere his faithful companion was a sketchbook.
The first exhibition of his works took place in 1960 at the University.
Since then, V. K. Datsuk a permanent participant of city and regional exhibitions in St. Petersburg and on Sakhalin. The winner of the national exhibition 1967
In 1966. in the country of the Union of artists in Uman, Vladimir met with the Moscow artist R. N. Barto, who for many years was the best teacher and friend Vladimir. The technique of monotype, the master of which was Rostislav Barto (who studied with A. Shevchenko), on some time in complete control of V. K. Datsuk. He was won over by the emotional power of transmission of the mood and the originality of this technique. During this period, monotype becomes the basis of all creative activity of the artist. In the period from 1968 to 1970. was created a series of "Sakhalin winds", "geologists", "North" and the cycle of female portraits – brooding, often sad and always enigmatic and attractive
In his picturesque canvases one feels the freshness of the mountains, the heat of the Central Asian villages, the vivid colors of Crimea and the misty distance of the Kola Peninsula.
Under the influence of R. Barto Vladimir Datsuk left the Geology and returned to student bench – entered the art-graphic faculty of the Russian state pedagogical University. A. I. Herzen. Here, he hones the skills of fortesta – artist and master of intaglio printing. Creates a series of St. Petersburg's motives, engaged in painting and continues to do the monotype.
For many years V. K. Datsuk, he was head of estampes workshop of the Academy of arts, and subsequently of the Department of drawing of the Herzen state pedagogical University. A. I. Herzen. Worked with students with printmaking – mainly deep engraving, which is the subject of his thesis and presentations at scientific conferences.
