Gergardovich Dick

Russia • 1939−2002

Born on January 1, 1939 in the village of Glyaden, Blagoveshchensk district, Altai Territory.

From 1957 to 1962 he studied at the Sverdlovsk Art College.

1966 - moving to the city of Vladimir.

From 1968 to 1973 he studied at the Moscow Higher Industrial Art School (formerly Stroganov) at the department of artistic metalworking. After graduating from college, he returned to Vladimir.

 

One of the most famous artists of Vladimir.

He began his career as a monumental artist. Soon, graphics became the main form of his work, first monotype, then pastel, coal and other materials.

 

Since 1975, he has been constantly participating in regional, Russian and all-Union exhibitions.

In 1977 he was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR.

In 1991, Peter Dick was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.

 

Personal exhibitions: 1982 -Vladimir, 1985-Leningrad, 1993-London.

1994 - Moscow (State Tretyakov Gallery and in the editorial office of Our Heritage magazine in Moscow),

1997 - St. Petersburg (State Russian Museum), 1999 - Suzdal and Vladimir.

Since 1996, actively collaborates with the gallery "LES OREADES", which has repeatedly organized his personal exhibitions.

 

Peter Gergardovich Dick died on August 14, 2002 in Moscow.

The works of Peter Dick are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the State Russian Museum, in the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin, in the art museums of Vladimir, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Tula, Tver, in the editorial office of Our Heritage magazine, as well as in numerous private collections in Russia and abroad.
