Having received education in the district school, began teaching drawing and other scientific subjects in Siberia and Moore, and then, having moved to St. Petersburg, in 1829, attended classes at the Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1833, the right teaching drawing in public schools; in 1835 - the right to teach drawing in the public schools. In 1839 he received from the Academy the title of a free artist. The mediocre painter but a good teacher of drawing, hot art lover and a person is beautiful soul, he helped to spread in Russia of the art knowledge, especially in the last 20 years (1861 - 1881), who served as a Director of the St. Petersburg drawing school for an auditor.
