(1866, St. Petersburg – 1917, Petrograd) - a painter-a landscape painter. Was a student in the painting workshop of A. N. Mamaeva Perm. In 1891-1897 he studied at the Academy of Arts in Repin's Studio. In 1897 he received the title of artist. In 1900-1916 traveled extensively in the RUSSIAN North (Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Kostroma, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm. province). Carried out a large number of watercolors and drawings of monuments of ancient art and architecture, especially the old believers ' temples and landscapes of the North. Many of his works were reproduced in magazines and postcards. In Perm. province worked in the area of the Upper Kama river in the town of Solikamsk, Nyrob village and in the villages. The Academy of arts has provided full support for Plotnikov in his travels: he allocated money for the trip, have acquired his work done. Participated in academic exhibitions in the cities St. Petersburg, Kazan (1896, 1907). In 1911, brought in Perm, the Museum works of his relative, Professor AH Vasily Petrovich Vereshchagin. Plotnikov's works are in many museums of Russia.
