Description of the artwork «Flowers.»
The composition "Flowers" (1979) is painted in the technique of oil-tempera painting, in which Zhilinsky has been working regularly since the mid-1960s. The painting clearly shows Zhilinsky's fondness for the works of old masters, especially A. Dürer, whose works are characterized by scrupulous scrutiny of the world of nature. It is noteworthy that in the same 1979 Zhilinsky created one more work - "Conversation about Durer and Cranach", which shows a keen interest in the heritage of Northern Renaissance. (Maria Belikova).
