After academician N. N. Kharlamov in the early twentieth century was the head of the Kholuy art school (formerly the Kholuy icon painting school). Joined the traditions of Palekh and Kholuy icon-painting schools of academic painting. In 1919 went to Nizhnegorodsky region, where he engaged in carting. In the 1920-ies Sarin E. A. was arrested. Kholuy art school was transformed into the Kholuy art school of miniature painting to them. N. N. Kharlamov. Work E. A. sarin are stored in the Tretyakov gallery, other museums of Russia.
