Georgievich Ignatov

Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

Artist, film and theater schedule. The honored worker of arts of Komi ASSR (1972).

He studied at the Moscow art school of memory of 1905 in the class of painting academician V. N. Baksheeva (1937-1941, 1947), then in the art Department of VGIK (1948-1954) at the Y. I. Pimenov and G. M. Segala.

In 1956-58 he worked at the Studio “Soyuzmultfilm”, “Filmstrip”. Illustrated and designed books for the publishing house “Detgiz”, Komi book and others. For thirty years (1960-ies) V. G. Ignatov worked on easel graphics cycles for the topic of Komi legends and tales. Ignatov permanent member of Komi Republican art exhibitions since 1947. Participant of exhibitions “the Soviet North”, exhibitions “the Soviet Russia”. Personal exhibitions of the artist took place in Syktyvkar in 1971, 1984, 1997.

The artistic heritage preserved in the National gallery of the Komi Republic.
