Mikhailovich Kamanin

Russia • 1915−2002

Honored artist of the RSFSR (1968). Professor(1969) Painter.

Studied at Yaroslavl art College (1932-1935), the Moscow art school of memory of 1905 (1936-1939), in the art Department of VGIK (1939-1943) F. S. Bogorodsky. Diploma work at VGIK - the design of the movie "Boris Godunov" (Director Boris Dubrovsky-Eksjö).

Participant of exhibitions since 1947.

Personal exhibitions took place in 1956 (Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod region), 1957, 1959, 1966, 1974 and 1983 (Moscow), 1962 and 1963 (Tula). In 1960 he participated in the exhibition "Soviet Russia" in Moscow.

He taught at the art faculty of VGIK in 1943 (since 1969 – Professor).

Works of the artist are in the Tretyakov gallery, Gorky art Museum, the Ministry of culture of Russia, private collections in Russia and abroad.
