The Museum of arts. A. Kasteev is the largest in Kazakhstan, an art Museum and a leading scientific research and cultural-educational center in the field of fine arts. Located in Almaty. Organized in 1976.
The European Museum exposition includes works of the masters from Italy and France, the Netherlands and Flanders, Germany and England. There is an etching by Rembrandt, Durer, Schongauer, Hals, Bourdon, Pourbus Jr., Dughet, Daubigny, Corot, sculpture Kaseva and Houdon.
The collection of Russian art XVIII—XX centuries, including works by Tropinin, Rokotova, Levitsky, Kiprensky, Vereshchagin, Aivazovsky, Borovikovsky, Repin, Shishkin, Levitan, Savrasov, Borisov-Musatov, Kustodiev, Petrov-Vodkin, Bronnikova, Maksimova, Pavlova.
Among the works of the Soviet period — the masterpieces Juon, Konchalovsky, Korin, Brodsky, Plastov, Saryan, Deineka, Yablonsky and other masters.
The Museum has a large collection of fine and applied arts of Kazakhstan. Large collection of felt, carpets, leather and wood.
The Museum is the largest collection of painting, sculpture and graphics of the Kazakh masters.
A large collection of Kazakh masters includes works by A. Cherkassky, N. Khludov, A. Kasteev, S. I. Kalmykov, M. S. Kenbaeva, E. M. Sidorkin, B. I. Urmanche, G. A. Galimbaeva, L. P. Leontiev, H. I. Naurazbaev, M. T. Telzhanov and others.
The exposition of the Museum contains objects of everyday life of the countries of the East: India, China, Korea, Japan.
