Biography and information

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1955), laureate of the USSR State Prize.

 

Studied in Moscow. VKHUTEMAS by K. Korovin and P. Shumikhin (1919) and in the studio of V. Yakovlev (1920-26). He lived in Moscow. Since 1923 he worked as a pr. schedule and poster. A participant in exhibitions since 1932. Since 1934 he designed performances in Moscow. Realistic t-re and in the Maly Theater, in 1945-48 artist of the Novosibirsk T-opera and ballet, in 1948-63 ch. Artist Center. children's t-ra. He also designed pop shows. Laureate of Art. etc. (1948).
