An auditor student at the Academy of fine Arts. Received medals: in 1854 - 2 silver; in 1857, - 2 silver and 1 silver for the painting "the storming of the redoubt Schwartz" and etude "From the Crimean war"; in 1859 - 2 gold for the painting "the Capture of Narva"; in the same year the title of class artist; in 1860, the title of academician. Son of A. I. Sauerweid, and studied at the Academy of fine Arts. The painting ""the Battle of Narva"" (in the Rumyantsev Museum) gave him the title of class artist, picture: ""Entry of Prince Repnin to Riga for the capture of this city July 4, 1700"" - the title of academician. In addition batalicheskih scenes, writing genres (for example, ""a Modest move from apartment to apartment,"", 1864). His works are in the Rumyantsev Museum, the Tretyakov gallery.
