Biography and information

Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

Born in the village Yurtsevo, Alexandrovsky district, Vladimir region. In 1942 he was drafted into the red Army. Participated in the battle for the defense of Moscow. In the reconnaissance artillery battalion of the regiment in the position of the gunner was fought from Volokolamsk to East Prussia. Special art education at the Kostroma art school from which he graduated in 1946. His teacher was the honoured art worker of the RSFSR N. P. Shleina. After graduating from College, as one of the top graduates, he was offered the position of teacher of drawing, painting and composition. At school Ivan Kozlov has worked for more than 15 years.

In his work adheres to the realistic traditions of Russian art school. Works in genres of portrait, historical and genre painting and landscape painting. Member of the Union of artists since 1968. The participant of city and Republican exhibitions. In the collection of the Alexander art Museum has about two hundred works submitted by the author, part of them in permanent exhibition. The artist's paintings are also in collections of art museums of Kostroma, Soligalich, and in private collections in Russia and abroad: Germany, France, Japan, USA.

Now lives in the city of Kostroma.
