Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Honored art worker of Armenia Babken painter during Colosan was born in 1909 in Yerevan. In the early 30's he graduated from art College and continued his artistic education in Leningrad in the Russian Academy of Arts, from which he graduated in 1938. Studied at the Academy in the class of Professor A. A. Osmerkin

Since 1939, on his return to Yerevan began to actively create and participate in Republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Had personal exhibitions in Yerevan in 1948, 1959,1966,1981,1989. In 2004 took place in Yerevan his posthumous exhibition.

In parallel the work taught at the art College in Yerevan. Since the Foundation of Yerevan fine arts and theatre Institute was a Professor and head of the Department of painting until his retirement. Over the years of teaching

B. A. Colosan has trained several generations of artists, including many prominent artists of different nationalities.

In the early 70-ies of the B. A. Colosan settled in the picturesque village of Saghmosavan where inspiration worked more than 20 years, until the end of life. B. A. Colosan died in 1994 and was buried there in Saghmosavan.

Colosan fruitfully worked in various genres: still life, landscape, portrait, occasionally the composition. The works are made with different techniques – oil, tempera, watercolor, sanguine, pastel, pencil, charcoal. For landscapes characteristic timidity and warm flavor. The still lifes are attracted by the richness of color, the “personification” of fruit and flowers. Especially famous for Colosan still life with grapes, in whose image he is considered a consummate master. In the last decade of his life the artist has created a new kind of “still life”, in which the flowers live in their natural environment, among grasses and stones. Very accurate and characteristic portraits, as well as a series of watercolors depicting animals and beasts. Subtly and with the mood is made

The artist B. A. Colosan has left a distinctive mark in the Armenian painting.
