Honored artist of the Abkhazian ASSR.
Painter, set designer, R. 28.9.1938, Ostrov, Leningrad oblast.
He studied at THACH (1958-63) at the faculty of painting, participant of city, regional, zonal, all-Union and foreign exhibitions: Sukhum, Tbilisi, Moscow, Krasnodar, Warsaw, Germany, Genoa. He worked as chief artist at the Abkhazian State drama theater. S. Y. Chanba (1963-84), he has designed more than 200 spektaklei, member of the artists Union of the USSR and Abkhazia. Works acquired by the State gallery, Tbilisi, Moscow Vladimir Popov, GNKH RA private collectors.
