Aleksandrovich Krivonogov

Born in Udmurt Republic Petr Krivonogov in 1939 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture. Soon he found himself in the Studio of military artists named after M. B. Grekov. In the last prewar year, the artist began to exhibit his paintings at exhibitions.

During the great Patriotic war there are numerous drawings and graphic works of P. Krivonogova, made in the combat units of the red Army. Among them are many portraits, including ordinary soldiers, "propavshih on their bellies half of Europe".

After the war, most of the paintings of the painter on the last war of the heroic ("Korsun-Shevchenko battle", "Kursk") and a heroic and tragic ("defenders of the Brest fortress", "the Commissar of the fortress") pages. His most famous painting ("Victory") P. A. Krivonogov wrote that is called, in hot pursuit, in 1948. Had been a witness of many small and large battles, is awarded the order the red Star and military medals the artist in may 1945 and was present in Berlin at the apotheosis of the great resistance of the Soviet soldier. For the picture of P. A. Krivonogov was awarded the State prize of the USSR. Later, he became the honored artist of the RSFSR. The whole creative life of the painter has been associated with the Studio named after M. B. Grekov.
