Studied: 1922-1924 in the arts Department of the State University, Tbilisi, 1924-1929 in the graphics Department of..., Leningrad, the P. A. Shillingovsky, V. M. Konashevich, E. S. Kruglikova, D. I. Mitrokhin. Thesis – the design of the book nanishvili E., "the Revolt in Georgia" and the children's magazine "Octombrie". He lived in Tbilisi until 1924 and 1948, in the 1920-1940-ies in Leningrad. He taught at Tbilisi Academy of arts in 1929-1920, 1943 and 1948. In the 1920s cooperated with the Leningrad magazines "Krasnaya panorama" and "Cutter". In the 1930s he worked as the main designer of "Partizdat". In 1939 the Chairman of the arts Council of the Leningrad Association of artists. Evacuated in 1942 in Tbilisi, executes orders of the publishing houses of the Republic. Member of the CX.
